Eric's Commentary
One major point I'd like to make is regarding the function of the lock--namely the method of locking the bike. Our RoadLoK® HD2/HD3™ is shipped with the optional DressPlug™ in place. This is the "plug" Waggs referred to during his install. Use of the DressPlug™ is completely optional. It's used for longer trip--to keep foreign objects out of the lock bore. Waggs removed the DressPlug and then inserted the locking pin with the key still turned. You may have noticed he had to use both hands to secure the pin with the lock. Although it works, this is not how we intended the RoadLoK to be activated. We designed the RoadLoK to be one-hand operable. The key should not be in the lock when the pin is inserted. It makes locking a whole lot easier! Once the pin is locked in the rider then has to roll the bike an inch or-so until the locking pin automatically seats in a ventilation hole.
Again, my sincere thanks goes out to the crew of A/B and SEF! We'll look for the Defender™ install shortly! -Eric X
